Western Orissa Development Council gets Rs 250 crore

Bhubaneswar ( Orissa ) : The Orissa government has provided Rupees 250 crore to the Western Orissa Development Council and Rupees 260 crore under Biju KBK plan from 2005-06 to 2008-09.

Replying to a question of Santosh Singh Saluja (Congress), Planning and Coordination Minister A U Singhdeo told the Assembly here t that while Rs 50 crore each was provided to WODC during 2005-06, 2006-07 and 2007-08, Rs 100 crore was given during 2008-09.

Similarly under the Biju KBK plan Rs 20 crore was given in 2006-07 and Rs 120 crore each in 2007-08 and 2008-09.

Under this plan Koraput and Bolangir were given the maximum fund of Rs 45 crore each followed by Kalahandi Rs 42 crore, Rayagada Rs 35.50 crore, Nawarangpur Rs 32.50 crore,Malkangiri Rs 23 crore, Subarnapur Rs 20 crore and Nuapada Rs 17 crore during 2006-07 to 2008-09,he said.
