“Since, we fall in love, our parents were very critical towards our affair. As a result of which, we took help of Police,” 22 year old groom Soma Orma and 19 year old Padma, bride said.

They couple expressed happiness after police conducted the formalities at Section-3 Police limits of Orissa’s Steel city of Rourkela.

The local Women Police Station in-charge Gurubari Hembrum played a key role and she convinced the parents of the love birds.

Sources said both were hails from Pograbahal village near by Rourkela city, Soma and Padma, who fell in love with each other about three years ago, had even eloped away a month ago as their parents opposed the proposal.

They, however, returned to their village on December 3 to seek approval of their marriage again, to which their parents refused.
