New Delhi : Taking bilateral relationship to a new high, India is all set to launch an Israel-made spy satellite on Monday reports UNI.
The 300-kilogram PSLV C12 remote-sensing model satellite will be launched tomorrow from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.
The satellite was earlier scheduled to be launched in the first week of April, Israeli newspaper 'Heartz' had quoted Indian sources earlier.
Capable of taking images of the Earth under all weather conditions (even when it is cloudy) using radar technology, the satellite would deliver pictures round-the-clock.
According to UNI this will be the answer to India's perennial efforts of monitoring its borders, specially infiltration by terrorist forces, surrounded as it is by hostile neighbourhood.
The radar-imaging espionage satellite, made by Israel Aerospace Industries, brings a new level in the growing relationship between India and Israel, especially in defence matters.
The latest cooperation comes after India expressed high appreciation towards Israel Aerospace Industries' gesture of using an Indian rocket to launch an Israeli imaging satellite last year in January.
Israel of late, has become one of the top suppliers of arms to India which is keen to upgrade its defence capabilities with over 30 billion USD budget in the next few years.
