Earlier Principal Secretary of the Water resources department Aurobinda Behera was appointed as the successor of Tarunkanti Mishra.

As per the information from reliable sources Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik hasdirected him to go on long leave if he will not join by Friday evening.

The ex-home secretary Tarun Kanti Mishra has been promoted to the rank of Chief Secretary and posted as development commissioner.
