Bhubaneswar (Orissa): Aurobindo Behera has been posted as Principal Secretary in the Home Department in the place of TK Mishra. TK Mishra and AS Sarangi of 1975 batch were promoted to the Chief Secretary rank.
There are 3 cadre posts in CS rank with discretion of the State Government to promote another 3 to the same rank. However earlier there were 4 CS rank officers and now there are 5. Mishra, was posted as the Development Commissioner –cum- Additional Chief Secretary on promotion to the CS rank.
R N Bohidar, who will be retiring from services after being appointed as Member Orissa Human Rights Commission (OHRC) will relinquish charges on 15 November. Mishra has been given the charge of Orissa Pollution Control Board (OPCB) as Chairman.
Earlier OPCB was handled by 1975 batch IAS S P Nanda, APC, who has been stripped of the charges on account of his pro-activism in pursuing polluting industries. Nanda however was compensated with additional charge of the Department of Forest & Environment.
Ardhendu Sekhar Sarangi, senior most officer promoted to the rank of Chief Secretary was allowed to function as Director General of the Gopanabndhu Academy of Administration.
1986 batch IAS Suresh Chandra Mahapatra has been posted as the Secretary of the Water Resources department. 1989 batch IAS Pradip Kumar Jena after waiting for nearly 2 months on his repatriation from UNDP, has been posted as Secretary Energy. He has been given additional charge of the Commerce & Transport department.
1976 batch IAS Jagar Singh at last found a berth in the mainstream as Secretary Labor & Employment. Dr.Taradatt has been shifted to Co-operation and Excise department.
Ashok Kumar Tripathy, 1981 batch has been posted as Principal Secretary ST SC Development department. Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra has been given additional charge of Information & Public Relations department.
Vir Vikram Yadav, 1996 batch IAS has been appointed as Director Technical Education & Training (DTET). The post was lying vacant as the 1999 batch IAS N B S Rajput has left for Madhya Pradesh.
