Bhubaneswar (Orissa): The BJP state unit on Tuesday released its election manifesto for the Bhubaneswar Municipal election. It promises to make Bhubaneswar a hub of healthy life and centre for progress and prosperity.
BJP senior leader Biswabhusan Harichandan released the manifesto. In its manifesto, the BJP has pledged to regularise all the recognised slums established till November 30, 2008 and rehabilitation of their inhabitants through Slum Development Scheme if it forms the council in Bhubaneswar Municipality Corporation (BMC).
It also pledged to introduce electric bus or elevated track train service for the development of future transport system. It also promises construction of flyovers at Sahid Nagar, Khandagiri, CRPF Square, Acharya Vihar for the smooth flow of traffic.
It also speaks of on a preparation of an integrated Master plan, renovation of city's drainage, sewage and all weather road system.
It also speaks of construction of state of art auditorium with at aleast 2,000 capacity, large scale afforestation, construction of high-tech Bus stand and suburban bus terminals, construction of a super specialty Central Government Health Service (CGHS) Hospital for the health service of the Central Government employees.
Bhubaneswar is the only state capital which does not have such facility. It also promises for construction of a modern stadium, peripheral beautification of ancient monuments for attracting tourists, establishment of an International Sports Academy for the improvement of games and sports and establishment of Paika Academy at Bhubaneswar for the improvement of Orissa’s tradition martial art.
