Bhubaneswar (Orissa): In protest against the mayhem of Central Para-Military Forces, the Kui Samaj has threatened to call a Kandhamal-bandh in the coming week.
Submitting a memorandum to the Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar , Kui Samaj president Lambodar Kuanar said the CRPF had unleashed a reign of terror in Kandhamal.
"On the instigation of Christian communities, the CRPF have started targeting the Kandhas and also beat them up continuously.
We will no more tolerate it," he said, adding that Government should take appropriate action to stop all these atrocities.
He further said that fearing the police attack, the tribals have already fled the villages. "They are in a state of panic," he said, adding that the Government should intervene to stop all these things.
"We will soon call a meeting of the Kui Samaj and decide the date when the bandh-would be called in the district," he said.
