Kolkata: With an untiring effort by Governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi, the stir at singur came to an end at the late night on Sunday. The dream for world’s small car cleared at its Singur Plant to fulfill its attitude to launch it in this October.
The two year old Singur problem was resolved in late Sunday night as a land –for-land agreement was reached at a face-to-face meeting between West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharjee and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee
As a part of the agreement the govt. agreed upon the issue of returns of tenant’s land which were acquired by the Tata authority and not compensated, middleman Governer Gopal Krishna Gandhi mediated between Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharjee and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee.
The Governer announced the media about the breakthrough of the meeting between the two leaders and imformed that the stir was called off from the singur plant.
As per the agreement, the state government will form a committee to look into the affected farmers’ demands and it will give its report in seven days. Till then the construction work in the Singur site will be on hold, said Gandhi.
The trimul Congress leader Mamta Banerjee soon left for Singur site and at late night the srir was concluded on a demand that the govt. returned the land –for land policy to the tenant of those land acquired by the Tata Plant.
