Orissa to reward Rs 1 lakh each to 5 Hockey players
Bhubaneswar: Better late than never. Though it is bit late, Orissa Government on Sunday felicitated five members of the Asia Cup winning team from the state.
| Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik felicited Indian hockey team Captain Prabodh Tirkey, former India captain Dillip Tirkey, and players including Igensh Tirkey, William Khalko and Roshan Minz in a special function held in Bhubaneswar on Sunday. All the players have been awarded with a cash prize of 2.5 lakh. however, critics raises eyebrows saying the State Government woke very late to recognise its son of the soil. Earlier Karnataka Govt had announced 2 Lakh cash award for their Hockey player who participated in Asia Cup at Chennai in Sept. |
