Orissa score big win over Hyderabad

Hyderabad : Orissa on Tuesday pulled off a nine-wicket victory over Hyderabad in the Ranji Trophy Super League Group B match in Hyderabad.

The visitors, who had not opened their account after two matches, obtained five points.

Hyderabad now have five points from four matches.

The hosts, resuming at overnight score of 143 for five, added a meagre 17 runs in their second innings losing the remaining five wickets in quick succession.

S Anoop Pai, who remained not out on 48 on Monday, returned to the pavillion without making any run. Ashwin Yadav and A Lalith Mohan departed without scoring runs.

Former India pacer Debasis Mohanty put up an impressive performance by claiming 10 wickets.

Chasing the victory target of 103 runs, Orissa reached the winning mark by losing the wicket of BS Pati (52). Opener Shiv Sundar Das remained not out on 40.

The visitors, however, missed the crucial bonus point that would have come their way had they recorded a 10-wicket victory.
