Orissa Govt. felicitates 5 Asia Cup winning team members
Bhubaneswar: Better late than never. Though it is bit late, Orissa Govt on Tuesday announced Rs one lakh cash reward each to four hockey players from the state who were part of the Asia Cup winning Indian team.
| Indian hockey team Captain Prabodh Tirkey, former India captain Dillip Tirkey, and players including Igensh Tirkey, William Khalko and Roshan are the players to benefit from the annoucement.
Earlier Karnataka Govt had announced 2 Lakh cash award for their Hockey player who participated in Asia Cup at Chennai in Sept. It may be noted that Indian Hockey Coach and some other player had threaten to go for hunger strike to protest against "step-motherly treatment" meted out to the Indian hockey players by both the central and the state governments after winning Asia Cup. |
