Hyderabad : A couple on Saturday lodged a complaint with the police here saying Telugu superstar and Praja Rajyam president Chiranjeevi, Dalit leader Katti Padma Rao and his son Chetan were involved in the "kidnapping" of their daughter.
The complaint was lodged a day after the girl's parents met Home Minister K. Jana Reddy and Leader of Opposition N. Chandrababu Naidu and sought their help in tracing out their daughter.
T. Subba Rao and T. Naga Shiromani parents of Nalini (24) in their complaint said that, their daughter was kidnapped and compelled to marry chetan.
They logged an F.I.R against the mega film star Chiranjeevi, padma Rao and chetan in the sanjeeva Ready Nagar police station.
They further added that Chiranjeevi (the mega star in telugu cinema) attended the marriage ceremony and called Nalini his "adopted daughter".
Nalini, an engineering graduate from West Godavari district, was employed in the city and stayed in a hostel at Ameerpet. Her parents said she returned to the city last week to shift her place of residence but was kidnapped and married to Chetan in the presence of Chiranjeevi.
Meanwhile Nalini denied the allegation of her parents and said she married Chetan on her own. She told the media on Friday that she got married without the knowledge of her. She said Chiranjeevi only attended the marriage as a well-wisher and a guardian.
Chiranjeevi launched his party, Praja Rajyam, at a public meeting at temple town of Tirupati on Aug 26.
