Manmohan Singh to inaugurate IEA conference in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar (Orissa) : Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, will inaugurate the 92nd Indian Economic Association (IEA) conference in the KIIT campus here on Sunday. The conference is being hosted by the KIIT School of Management from December 27 to 29.

According to the organiser about 3,000 delegates are expected to participate in the conference, making it the largest gathering of academicians, economists and researchers in the country.

Manmohan Singh is also a member of the body along with Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen and Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission Dr Montek Singh Ahluwalia.

The 92nd conference would focus on five broad areas. They are teaching and research in economics in India, global economic crisis and Indian economy, economic geography and development, structural reforms and agriculture and aspects of development with special reference to Orissa.
