Bhubaneswar (Orissa) : The Orissa Government has rejected 482 trade licences and suspended 136 Mining licences and called for show cause notices issued to them.
The third sitting of the high level Task force constructed under the Chairmanship of the Chief Secretary Tarunkanti Mishra held on Tuesday in the Orissa Secretariat.
In the meeting it was revealed that 2412 licences have been issued for storeing,transporting and trading of Mining. Out of which 644 have been reviewed. During the review , the licences of 482 organisations have been rejected as they have violated the Rules.
Similarly more than 600 company have been granted Mining licences. Out of which renewal applications have received from 134 organisations. Till now the mining licences of 63 has been rejected. All the district Collectors, Police Superintendents and the Chief Conservetor of Forests have been instructed to take strong steps in the matter.
The Task force committee has constituted four committees. The first committee has been constituted under the Chairmanship of the Executive Director of the Orissa Mining Corporation. This committee will verify the weighments in all mining areas.
The senior mining officers of the corporation will assist the Executive Director. The second committee constituted under the Chairmanship of the Commissioner of Commercial Taxes. This committee will Check all the Check gates in the state.
The third committee constituted under the Chairmanship of the Commissioner of Transport. In this committee officers of Mining, Excise, Commercial Taxes and Forests are included.
As per the decision of the committee all trading licences, crosser units verification will be completed within the month of December.
The new Transit Pass (T.P) will be introduced from April 2010.
