Bhubaneswar ( Orissa) : At least three more Apparel Training and Design Centres (ATDC) will be set up in Orissa.
The proposed centers will be set up jointly by the Apparel Export Promotion Council (APEC) under union ministry of textiles and state government at Baripada, Cuttack and Sambalpur very soon. .
The proposed centres, to be opened under the Skill Development Project (SDP) of the APEC, will impart training to rural youth on the garment making and several other textile-related works, according to handlooms and textile secretary, Ms Arati Ahuja. .
The APEC is now running three ATDCs at Bhubaneswr, Berhampur and Rourkeal with 100 per cent placement guarantee. .
The government has decided to open more training centres keeping in view of the demand for skilled persons in domestic and International apparel industries. .
Almost all the students who passed out from the Bhubaneswar centre have got placement, said Ms Lopamudra Das, head of the Bhubaneswar center. .
The placement was made in reputed garment companies, she said.
