Two Maoists arrested in Orissa

Berhampur ( Orissa) : Two suspected Maoist cadre were arrested at Bonai in Orissa's Sundargarh district, police said on Wedesday.

While Debendra Samal was caught in Jamudih village in K Balang police station, Belen Barla was arrested at Topadih village in Koida police station on Tuesday.

Debendra, a native of Ajadnagar of Balichandrapur police station in Cuttack district has been involved in several Maoist activities in the district besides in the killing of CITU-activist, Rabi Oram in March, 2010 at Koida.

Belen, a local outfit, was also involved in Oram's murder, police said.

Debendra was also enrolling the youths from his native district in Cuttack to join Maoist cadre in Sundargarh district and was providing Maoist uniforms, police said.

Both Debendra and Belen were on Wednesday produced before a judicial court at Bonai.
