Malkangiri (Orissa) : Continuing their mayhem in Orissa’s south-western part, the outlawed CPI (Maoists) cadres on Thursday blown up two mobile towers in Malkangiri district bordering Chhattisgarh.

“The leftwing ultras blown up two mobile towers at Kudugullagumma area under Orkel police limits of Malkangiri using detonators, Deputy Inspector General of Police Sanjib Panda said.

The rebels also ransacked a liquor shop and a brewery in that area.

Early on Wednesday, the leftwing ultras had also CPI (Maoists) torched the control room of private telecom company Airtel in State’s Koraput district.

On Tuesday the rebels had killed a paddy trader Rama Gouda in Orissa's Malkangiri district for not acceding to their demands.

They had also detonated a railway station and abducted three railway employees in Sundargarh district. So this indicates the growing presence of the guerrillas in Orissa including Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal and Chhattisgarh.
