Bhubaneswar (Orissa): In a major initiative, that is going to change the complete landscape of media distribution, Wire and Wireless (India) Ltd., a Zee Network Enterprise and India's No.1 Cable TV Network, is all set to launch, Head end in the Sky (HITS), a satellite based delivery platform for million of its customers and Local Cable Operators (LCOs) across India in few weeks time, a Company release said.
HITS is a satellite based platform that will deliver multi channel television signals to customers and LCOs across the country. HITS provides a complete array of digital video and audio programming needed for a comprehensive programme bouquet.
Speaking on this historic moment, Subhash Chandra, Chairman, Wire and Wireless said,
"HITS is the latest offering from the Essel Group, which has always been in the forefront of innovation. This technology which promises high quality digital signal through the cable will revolutionise media distribution in the country."
"We have our complete backend ready with call centre, network, Set-Top-Box and marketing Campaign. We also have most of the broadcasters on board, and our roll out has been planned starting with Conditional Access System (CAS) notified areas and prominence is given on the cable environment of the Hindi speaking heartland," Deepak Chandnani, CEO Wire and Wireless said.
HITS will enable Wire and Wireless for pan India digital roll-out in short period by providing Local Cable Operators, large housing projects, townships, hotels, hospitals with digital signals.
LCOs do not need additional investments on a local digital head-end, separate subscriber management system (SMS) and conditional access arrangement.
HITS gives superior customer experience since the transmission is centralized which enable operator to maintain signal quality and content standard.
