Bhubaneswar ( Orissa ) : Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol starred and Karan Johan’s blockbuster My Name is Khan on Friday released in Orissa amid protest from rightwing Viswa Hindu Parishad and Bajarang Dal.
With controversy over King Khan’s pro Pakistani statements reaching at its climax, a large number of people throng Cinema Halls across the State including in Bhubaneswar to watch the much talked about movie.
Police sources said that the Saffron activists have burnt effigy of Bollywood Badshah at several places in the State protesting against the release of the movie.
The movie was released in 29 halls across the State, sources said. “Our stand is very clear and we would continue our protest,”Subhash Chouhan, national co-convenor of the Bajrang Dal, said.
“We have appealed our workers to boycott the movie,” VHP State general secretary GP Rath said.
Rath said that noted actor of Indian film industry earned the fame and money in India but supports Pakistan.
'My Name is Khan, and I am not a terrorist'--one line sure to be mouthed by you as you step out of the theatre. And mind you, there are many other priceless quotes, movie lover, said.
