Bhubaneswar ( Orissa ): Sisira Saras mela will be held from 23rd Jan to 1st Feb 2010 at Bhubaneswar. A preparatory meeting for organization of this National level mela was held in the Secretariat chamber of Prafulla Samal Minister Panchayatiraj and Information & Public Relations to have a detailed discussion.
Presiding over the meeting Minister Sri Samal emphasized on smooth management and cooperation of all departments for success of this mela.
This is a national level exhibition sponsored by Ministry of Rural Development, Govt. of India, wherein all the states participate with the products produced by SHGs/ artisans / producers assisted under different anti-poverty programmes of the Govt.
In this exhibition, the best quality handicrafts, handlooms, artifacts and traditional products of different states will be brought for display and sales.
SISIR SARAS has been very popular and urban consumers particularly of the twin city of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack wait for it for the whole year to purchase products of their choice available at one platform. SARAS exhibitions are always the top priority of the particioants.
Besides, Orissa Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS), has been organizing exhibitions under the banner of "SARAS", "Gramshree" and "Pallishree in order to provide platform to the rural producers to showcase their products for direct sale, interact & get taste, choice, preferences of urban consumers and also to find out trade link.
This ultimately helps them to upgrade and adjust their products and marketing skills and provide qualitative products to the customers while benefiting themselves from a larger marketing opportunity.
