Sudarshan Patnaik starts sandy campaign for Orissa’s Prince group

Puri ( Orissa ) : With Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik missing no stone unturned, internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has joined the campaign to vote for 'Prince Dance group' for entering into the finals of a reality show 'India's Got Talent'.

While the business houses, senior government officials and people of Orissa have launched a SMS campaign to vote for the Prince Dance Group of Berhampore, Sudarshan has created a sand art of a tricolour and a 5-feet high mobile phone with a message'' PD and SMS to 56882, on the sandy beach of Puri.

Former world champion Sudarsan, who has so far participated in more than 39 international sand sculpture championships across the world and won many awards for the country, used 5 tones of sand and took four hours to complete the sand sculpture.

Students of his Golden sand art institute joined hands for the campaigning. The sand artist used some colour sand to attract the sculpture.

Prince Dance group, comprising 26 workers from Ganjam mostly belonging to poor and lower middle class families, have shown their dedication and devotion winning hearts of lakh of people of Orissa by performing a unique dance in the India's Got talent show and entering into the finals to perform their show on August 22.

The Chief Minister also announced to provide Rs 1 crore and four acres of land at Berhampore to establish an Art Institute to promote dance in the state.
