Puri ( Orissa) : On the 8th anniversary of 9/11 attack on world trade centre (WTC) , internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik paid a sandy tribute by creating sand sculpture of new Freedom Tower with the National flag of USA at Golden beach of puri in Orissa with a massage- “Power of Freedom”.

The soft spoken Pattnaik created a 7 feet high sand sculpture of World Trade Centre using 5 tones of sand in 7 hours. Since, Last eight years Pattnaik paying tribute to the 9/11 victims through his sand art.

I condemn terrorism and have created this new model of WTC for a new hope, said Sudarsan.

Former world champion Sudarsan has so far participated in more than 39 international sand sculpture championships across the world and won many awards for the country.

Through his art he helped the tsunami victims in India, save the endangered Olive Ridley Turtles, Bird flu and spread awareness of the dangers of HIV-AIDS and polio. Pattnaik also running a sand art school at Puri Beach in Orissa.
