Lucknow: BSP supremo Mayawati took the oath of office of the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh in Lucknow on Sunday afternoon.

The swearing-in ceremony took place on the lawns of Raj Bhawan. Mayawati has now become the CM of Uttar Pradesh for a record fourth time.

Along with Mayawati, 19 elected MLAs also took the oath as cabinet minister. They include Nasimuddin Siddiqui, Inderjit Saroj, Sukhdev Rajbhar, Lalji Verma, Swami Prasad Mourya, Jaidev Singh, among others.

It is after 14 years that the state is witnessing single party rule.
