BHubaneswar (Orissa) : Rashtriya Swabhiman Andolan chief and former BJP national general secretary, KN Govindacharya has alleged that the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi adopting cheap politics over Kandhamal communal violence.

Govindacharya while addressing a press conference here alleged that the minority appeasement policies of UPA have sabotaged the interest of Hindus.

Referring to Prime Minister's statement over Kandhamal violence saying "it's a national shame," the firebrand former RSS ideologue lambasted Dr Singh and said "its unfortunate statement and cheap politics to impress the Church people.

"The recent clashes proceeded by the gruesome murder of Swami Laxmananda Saraswati at Jalespata Ashram on August 23 along with some disciples is the result of decades long aggressive prosylatization campaign of Christians. It has ultimately ruptured the chords of social religious harmony in inner lands of Orissa," he pointed out.

"Swamiji was personally known to me since 20 years or more. His dedication to since the poor and weak was phenomenal and inspiring to others," he added.

Accusing the BJP of shedding 'crocodile tears' for the Hindus, he said the party was exposed in the aftermath of Swami Laxamananda Saraswati's killing.

Stating that BJP was not different from others in appeasing the minority for votes, Govindacharya said they should follow Deendayal Upadhyaya instead of Naveen Patnaik.

He further slammed the BJP accusing it of falling into the trap laid by pseudo secularists. 'Though the BJP is part of the State Government here, it failed to protect the life of Swamiji', he said alleging party leaders were supporting the government and not the people.
