Bhubaneswar (Orissa) : The state government proposed to launch Biju Saharanhcal Bidyutkaran Yojna ( Biju Urban Electrification Scheme) in the next fiscal with an investment of Rs 39.7 lakh per annum.
This decision has taken at the 5th Cabinet meeting held on Thursday in the Orissa secretariat under the Chairmanship of the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
The cabinet has also endorsed a slew of measures for urban poor.
Addressing a press conference after the cabinet meeting, the Chief Secretary Tarunkanti Mishra said a new project ‘Pyush’ will be started in the urban areas to supply water the poor peoples in the urban areas.
The BPL families have to deposit only Rs 500/- insted of Rs 3000/- and they have to deposit monthly Rs 30/-. It will be increased 5% every year. and they will use only one tap, he said.
The junior engineers will provide them pipe connection within seven days of apply.
Similarly Sarba Khyama project will be started for collection of the dues of water supply . At a time one has to deposit only Rs 500/- or can be paid in 12 instalments. The new applicant can deposit for water supply connection and can also deposit in 12, 24 or 36 instalments.
The cabinet exempted dues of Rs 37 lakh 14 thousand of the Orissa Tassar Federation.
