Goods train derailed in Orissa, train services affected

Bhubaneswar ( Orissa ) : Train services on Wednesday partially affected after nine wagons of a Visakhapatnam bound empty goods train derailed between Baudpur and Kenduapada stations under Khurda Road Railway Division of East Coast Railway.

The UP line has been blocked due to the derailment. The 2704 Howrah-Secunderabad Falaknuma Express was controlled at Dhanmandal, 0201 Yeshvantpur-Guwahati weekly special train at Manjuri Road and 2820 New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Orissa Sampark Kranti Express at Bhadrak station.

Arrangements were being made to run trains via down line to avoid minimum detention of trains. Senior officials, including the Divisional Regional Manager Khurda Road Division, had rushed to the site.

The cause of derailment was not yet known, ECoR sources here said.
