Wife brings trouble for most wanted red rebel Sabyasachi Panda

Bhubaneswar ( Orissa) : If he surrenders or any mainstream political party show interest to rehabilitate him. That would be a different story but if not, Sabyasachi Panda, State secretary, outlawed CPI (Maoists), Orissa State Committee, would be in trouble with cops making roots to his whereabouts.

With judicial remand of Sabyasachi’s wife, Mili Panda alias Saswati Das, extended till January 25, cops of five States including Orissa, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Andhra Pradesh, besides, officials from Central Intelligence bureau, would try their best to reach out to the game plan of the Central Committee as well as Central Military Commission of the outlawed outfit.

With reports that, she has a very good relation with top Maoists leaders including Ganapati, who heads the outfit in the country, Kishenji and Sumitda for whom, cops of West Bengal and Jharkhand chasing since a long time.

If Mili reveals her husband’s whereabouts, then police would try it in south-western ranges of the State.

The lore around 43-year-old Sabyasachi has grown not just because of his reputation of being the most violent brain in the Maoists world, but also because he comes from a family of freedom fighters.

Hailing from Mayurjhalia village, Panda's father Ramesh Chandra is a three-time CPI (M) MLA from Ranpur in Nayagarh district.

His elder brother Siddharth, a Biju Janata Dal member while Sabyasachi joined the Naxalite movement in 1991 and it was he who revived it in 1996 and gave the call for a full-scale armed struggle against the establishment.

He formed the Kui Labanga Sangha (Kui Youth Association), which later became a front organisation for the Andhra Pradesh-based People's War Group (PWG).

He next formed the Peoples Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA). Intelligence sources say, Panda went for the Nayagarh attack for two reasons:
