Rourkela girl Rajasmita Kar wins ‘Dance India Dance 3′ title
21-year-old Rajasmita Kar was declared the winner at the grand finale of third season of Zee TV’s dance reality show “Dance India Dance” here Saturday night.

Mumbai : The search for India’s best dancer finally came to an end when 21-year-old Rajasmita Kar was declared the winner at the grand finale of third season of Zee TV’s dance reality show “Dance India Dance” here Saturday night.

The Odisha girl beat Pradeep Gurung, 24, from Assam, Raghav Juyal, 20, from Dehradun, Sanam Johar, 20, of Delhi and Mohena Singh, 23, from Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa to walk away with the winner’s trophy and Maruti Ertiga car. The show had started off with 18 contestants.

However, Mohena got a cash prize of Rs.3 lakh for the best desired performance of the season.

The finale was hosted by Saumya Tandon and Jay Bhanushali, who opened the show with their dance performances. Judges and mentors Geeta Kapoor, Remo D’Souza and Terence Lewis also created magic with their spectacular acts, while grand master Mithun Chakraborty was seen applauding the performances.


Actor Anil Kapoor came to promote his forthcoming release “Tezz” and support the finalists.

The winners of first two seasons of the show were Salman Khan, from Bangalore and Shakti Mohan , from Mumbai.

Born on 26th January of 1991, on the Indian Republic Day to mother Smt. Ranjita Kar and father Sri Ramesh Kumar Kar at Rourkela of Odisha. Rajasmita Kar's nick name is Niki, who loves to practice and perform 'Hip Hop' dance in her leisure. Studying in class XII of Arts, her idol is Indian Bollywood Actress Sridevi and follows to her dance teacher Aman sir.

From the childhood, she loves to dance and watching TV. At the age of 4 year everybody knows about her inborn talent and interest towards dancing. She participate each and every program and functions organized in her town and nearby locations of Rourkela, Odisha.

Earlier, she also participated in Tarang TV channel's dance program 'Jhum Odisha Jhum' and 'Dhum Maggi Dhum', also conceded to Final stage. On October 2011, the audition for 'Dance India Dance-3' was held at Bhubaneswar; where she participated and went to Mumbai. Since December 24 of 2011, she is performing in that program.
